OUR PROJECT

The positive effect of literature on the development of young children is known: a good book helps children to calm down and relax, to grow and mature, to increase self-confidence. They learn to manage their emotions, improve cognitively, cultivate their imagination... But when literature meets science, new paths open up...

With the eyes of Jules Verne's imagination we travel to fantastic worlds... and we STEAMing on the paths of science fiction...

Through our project the students:
They will be introduced to the wonderful world of Jules Verne's literature
They will approach science through literature
They will collaborate with students from other schools in order to achieve common goals
They will learn to respect the environment and take care of its sustainability
They will get to know new cultures

INTEGRATION WITH THE CURRICULUM

The project is compatible with the Analytical Curriculum of the Kindergarten (DEPPS, 2003) as it follows the principle of intersubjectivity and has as main idea children's literature and natural sciences. The project has been organized around "topics" that are interesting and pedagogically appropriate for the children. At the same time, it interacts with the fields of Human Environment, Mathematics, Language, Creation-Expression and Information Technology, thereby promoting the all-round physical, emotional, mental and social development of children. During the implementation of the project, the young students approach knowledge in a holisticall way through the various subjects.
Our students work in intra-school and inter-school groups.
They develop teamwork skills, express themselves creatively through artistic activities of painting, creative writing and poetry, implement ste(a)m actions.
